A good start: The parts of the test

The Goethe-Zertifikat A2: Fit in Deutsch exam consists of the following parts: Understanding Writing, Understanding Oral, Writing and Producing Oral. The examination is conducted and evaluated worldwide on the basis of uniform criteria.


Reading comprehension

You read texts, such as short journal articles, emails, ads, and posters in public places, and edit various exercises. Duration: 30 minutes


Writing

Write short messages on topics in your immediate environment.

Duration: 30 minutes


Understanding Oral Speech

You hear daily chats, announcements and interviews from the radio, voicemail messages and announcements in public places, and you handle various exercises.

Duration: 30 minutes


Speech Production

You ask questions and answer third-party questions about your personal information, tell something about your life, and agree or organize something together with your interlocutor.

Duration: 15 minutes


Conditions

Goethe-Zertifikat A2: Fit in Deutsch is aimed at adolescents aged 12 to 16 years.

The Goethe-Institut exams are aimed at all interested candidates, regardless of a certain age or German citizenship.

  • The Goethe-Zertifikat A2: Fit in Deutsch test is recommended for 12 year olds.
  • Goethe-Zertifikat A2: Fit in Deutsch exam requires linguistic proficiency at second language proficiency level (A2) Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (GER).
  • This level requires - depending on prior knowledge and learning style - 200 to 350 45-minute lessons.
